Introduction to Goshen

Our Theme Verse:
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.-Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB)

Our Vision:
"Committed to Christ, His Church, and His Commission"

Our History:
God brought life out of death when a frontier funeral in the wilds of North Carolina in the 1760's led to the founding of a new congregation. Goshen Presbyterian Church has been a constant witness to Jesus Christ in the North Belmont community since that time through worship, preaching, and community outreach. Although the congregation has always remained within one mile of the cemetery which was her first home, Goshen has raised up pastors and planted congregations which have had an impact throughout the world for Christ.

Our Denomination:
The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) is the second-largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States. The PCA is committed to the inspiration and inerrancy of Scripture, the Deity of Christ, and the necessity of belief in Jesus Christ and repentance from sin for salvation. The PCA holds to the Bible as the Word of God and subscribes to the Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms as statements of biblical truth.
