Goshen Ministries

Sunday School
Sunday School begins at 9:45am. We offer classes for all ages from nursery to adults. Our classes serve not only as places of instruction but as communities which help us connect to the church. Each adult class spends time in prayer for each other before the lesson begins. Every Sunday School class focuses on Scripture, seeking to apply the word of God to our lives today for His glory.

Sunday Worship Services
Worship at Goshen is focused on God's glory as it is displayed in the gospel of Jesus Christ. In our morning service, the message from Scripture is the foundation for the call to worship, prayers, and music. The service begins with a time of praise, confession, and commitment before moving into a time of response in giving our offering to God and hearing His word proclaimed. Like many Presbyterian congregations, Goshen uses the Apostles and Nicene creeds regularly in worship. Nursery for 0-2 year olds is available during the morning worship service. [All nursery and children/youth workers at Goshen must pass a background check to serve.]

The evening service is more informal in nature. It opens with songs selected by the congregation. We then have a time of prayer, with members and visitors sharing their requests. The sermon follows and rounds out this relaxed time of worship.

Please note that dress at Goshen varies greatly. Some come to worship wearing suits, others wear casual clothes, and some wear very relaxed attire. What matters is the heart of the worshiper, not the outfit.

Wednesday Night Bible Study
While Sunday messages move us through whole books of the Bible, Wednesday night studies are focused on topics of interest to the believer. These range widely from in-depth theological studies to consideration of contemporary issues facing the church. Each study opens with singing and prayer for the concerns in the congregation.

Goshen Women's Ministries
As has been the case since the days of Israel, women play a key role in the work of Goshen Presbyterian Church. They host Bible studies for the women that meet the Tuesday following the first Sunday in the month. The women host and support various regular outreach and ministry events that impact our community, such as Operation Christmas Child and our annual Attic Sale. Any woman attending Goshen is welcome to join our Women!

Service and Outreach
Goshen seeks to share the grace of Jesus Christ in our community. We demonstrate His love and grace through our support of SOCKS (a local charity that serves the North Belmont community) as well as through our deacons who manage our benevolence fund. We share the gospel through personal evangelism (with training provided as needed) and by publishing our sermons on our website, YouTube, and Twitter. Goshen also supports missionaries serving both in the United States and around the world.
